UPDATE regarding the blue and yellow bins.
The city has indicated that residents can keep the old bins for whatever purpose you want. However, if you would like them to be recycled, put them on your curb on Tuesday, Nov. 13th and they will pick them up. Do NOT have anything in them. Otherwise you are free to use them as sleds come first snowfall.

Just an FYI
For those of you, like us, who did NOT get a blue rolling bin earlier this week, here's some information that the flyers won't tell you.
If you didn't put recycling out last Monday, you didn't get a cart. The only way you're going to get a cart is to put out the old bins (filled, I guess) on tuesday (since Monday is a holiday and there's no pick up.)
The city sanitation worker I talked to said "we're not going to give these bins to everybody." So if you were out of town or just didn't recycle Monday, you would be out of luck if you didn't put filled recycle bins out next Tuesday.
